Pre All-Star Break Rankings

Top 10

1. Madison Mmmhmmmm!

Pay no attention to Madison’s current three game losing streak as they’ve proved that they are the NL’s team to beat. They are nearly unbeatable at home with their 32-11 record. They also lead in all-star voting as voters have 7 Madison players on the team right now.

2. Vancouver Mountain Lions

No one can play with the Mountain Lions right now as they’ve won 20 out of their last 25. They arguably have the best current pitching staff that leads the NL with it’s collective 3.40 ERA.

3. Seattle Spectacular Views

The Views are trying to shake things up a bit as they’ve traded #1 pitcher Gil Mattes to division Rival Kansas City for another bat. Seattle ownership said the team needed a spark with superstar Neil Clyburn in a terrible slump that has dropped his batting average nearly 80 points in the last month.

4. Salem Slugs

The Slugs have faltered a bit since the last rankings and they find themselves two and a half back of Vancouver. They need to pick things up at home where they’ll meet their division rivals after the All-Star break.

5. Charlotte Knights

Charlotte residents are relieved that their team plays in what is shaping up to be the weakest division in the NL. Charlotte has been playing well enough to keep a solid lead in the division but is not living up to expectations.

6. Baltimore Barksdales

Baltimore will be a team to watch the rest of the way. No one is really sure where they came from or how they got there. The keyword for this team is execution. They don’t WOW you in any one way; but at the end of the game they find a way to win.

7. Boston Mets

As usual, the only thing to talk about in Boston these days is superstar SS Nick Black. Black is poised for a third consecutive MVP award but the rest of his team is not performing up to the expectations that they set last year.

8. Kansas City Bush Leaguers

Kansas City is back to their old ways. After a less than stellar start to the season, Bush Leaguer ownership has started on their typical trading frenzy. Hopefully, they can make the right moves and break off a (Spectacular) run in the second half as they did last season.

9. Rochester Red Wings

Rochester who? That’s right, the Red Wings are knocking at the door suddenly and they want to come in. They’ve assembled one of the best pitching staffs in the league statistically and could very well be a team to reckon with late in the season.

10. San Diego Mad Friars

San Diego is another team with a great staff that unfortunately hasn’t been getting enough key hits in clutch situation. If they don’t make a run towards the postseason this year, expect them to be a big-time spoiler for other teams trying to get in.

The Rest
