Disaster in San Antonio

After receiving a $3.9M signing bonus, Oswaldo Nunez was immediately shipped to the Low-A level, where he started to produce for the franchise, and show his worth. But 49 games and 153 at-bats later, and Nunez finds himself on the DL with a strained MCL. His speed, base-running, and range in the OF will take something of a hit, but team doctors say they are happy that it was just a strain, and not a tear. When we asked the franchise for a statement, the team owner himself said "we knew his health rating was low, so we platooned him with another player, and (yet) he still gets hurt after 120 AB's." Obviously distraught over their high-priced international player getting injured after such a short stint with the team, while they felt that they were taking the necessary precautions to minimize the chances of injury, San Antonio can only hope this does not turn into an on-going issue.
